The FCC recently announced that they are further opening up the broadband spectrum to unlicensed traffic. This will allow routers to broadcast their signals in the 6GHz range, in addition to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz ranges already available for unlicensed use and means that very soon, there will be a lot more Wi-Fi to go around.
