Network Security Engineer

Bird Rock Systems is seeking a Palo Alto Security Network Engineer for the Southwest US region.

You will be working with customers to plan, design, implement and optimize network security solutions.

Your understanding of network security solutions combined with effective communication skills will enable you to articulate and demonstrate the value of IT/security solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Expertise in discovering customer requirements, demonstrating product capabilities, executing Proof of Concepts (POCs) and leading Enterprise Architecture discussions is essential to success in this role.

Job Responsibilities:
Actively participate in the sales process as a subject matter expert of Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama, Prisma Access as well as other related technologies and manufacturers such as Cisco Systems.
Lead and perform installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of Palo Alto NGFW, Panorama, Prisma Access and other network security solutions.
Lead onsite and remote proof of concept evaluations.
Provide product demonstrations to prospective customers.
Identify customers’ needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
Respond to product, service, and engineering customer inquiries.
Determine the bill of materials (part numbers) that may be required to achieve a customer’s use case.
Determine and explain or demonstrate improvements in the customer environment and propose changes in equipment and processes.
Develop customer staff by providing technical information and training.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional groups.
Completion of assigned certifications.

Education and Experience Requirements:
4+ years professional experience as a technical resource planning, designing, implementing, and optimizing network security technologies.

Experience working with Panorama and virtual system instances
Maintain/update documentation, as well as, document exceptions to standards.
Preferred Security Certifications CISSP, CISM, Palo Alto, Cisco
Strong, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

Cloud Engineer

Bird Rock Systems is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support the development of enterprise cloud architectures in Microsoft Azure. As a member of our team, you’ll build and apply hands-on expertise across the Azure ecosystem.

 

Key Functions:

  • Contribute to the security, networking, and automation of Azure architecture
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide operational support to customers in Azure
  • Conduct cloud security analysis, recommendations and configurations of Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Office 365 environments. This can include solutions such as O365 security and compliance, SharePoint, One Drive, Teams, Exchange, AAD, O365 DLP, Azure Information Protection (AIP) and Exchange Online Protection, Microsoft MFA, SSO and other solutions
  • Perform technical health checks for Cloud environments
  • Support proof of concept and production deployments of cloud technologies
  • Collaborate with team members for cross-domain, multi-cloud, and hybrid solutions
  • Share knowledge with team members and partners

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Understand Microsoft Azure Cloud Security strategy and architecture
  • Understand Enterprise Mobility and Security Suite (EM+S), Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Azure Information Protection (AIP) and Intune, Azure Key Vault, Azure Security Center
  • Technical experience with enterprise level directory/messaging services (Active Directory, LDAP, Exchange, SharePoint, O365) implementation and operations
  • Experience in operation and configuration of both Windows and Linux systems
