Network Security Engineer

Bird Rock Systems is seeking a Palo Alto Security Network Engineer for the Southwest US region.

You will be working with customers to plan, design, implement and optimize network security solutions.

Your understanding of network security solutions combined with effective communication skills will enable you to articulate and demonstrate the value of IT/security solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Expertise in discovering customer requirements, demonstrating product capabilities, executing Proof of Concepts (POCs) and leading Enterprise Architecture discussions is essential to success in this role.

Job Responsibilities:
Actively participate in the sales process as a subject matter expert of Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama, Prisma Access as well as other related technologies and manufacturers such as Cisco Systems.
Lead and perform installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of Palo Alto NGFW, Panorama, Prisma Access and other network security solutions.
Lead onsite and remote proof of concept evaluations.
Provide product demonstrations to prospective customers.
Identify customers’ needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
Respond to product, service, and engineering customer inquiries.
Determine the bill of materials (part numbers) that may be required to achieve a customer’s use case.
Determine and explain or demonstrate improvements in the customer environment and propose changes in equipment and processes.
Develop customer staff by providing technical information and training.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional groups.
Completion of assigned certifications.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Experience working with Panorama and virtual system instances
Maintain/update documentation, as well as, document exceptions to standards.
Preferred Security Certifications CISSP, CISM, Palo Alto, Cisco
Strong, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

Services Coordinator Intern

We are looking for a proven performer to help fuel our aggressive growth strategy and complement our unique company culture. The Services Coordinator Intern position is an associate position supporting the services delivery needs of our customers.

Our Company: Bird Rock Systems focuses on delivering products and services within our core practices: Cloud, Security, Network, Privacy & Compliance.

The Services Coordinator Intern plays an active role in addressing our customer’s needs with appropriate resourcing and coordination of our team’s schedules. The Services Coordinator Intern strives to enable the services team in delivering and exceeding the expectations of the customer while balancing the priorities of schedules, resource needs, costs, and internal operations.

Reports to: Director of PMO

Essential Functions:

  • Work with the sales team, pre-sales, and post-sales engineers to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements within budget and agreed-upon timeframe
  • Provide relevant project information to the Operations Team
  • Ensure that requests are clearly defined
  • Validate the level of effort for requests and their related scope
  • Facilitate services communications for engagements
  • Assemble and coordinate team members and assigning them to appropriate services requests
  • Coordinate the scheduling of resources both internally and externally
  • Run meetings with clients to address service requests with our teams
  • Serve as the voice of the team for communications, leading or auditing meetings regarding project status, as well as tracking open issues
  • Responsible for processing change orders or services requests
  • Updating, closing, maintaining, and reporting on open retainers
  • Seek to continuously improve profitability and efficiency of service delivery with processes and procedures
  • Communicate job and customer presence expectations to engineers
  • Deliver new contractor onboarding training
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and work quality, remedy when necessary
  • Negotiate contractor rates
  • Work with internal operations to process invoices, report on services data, and facilitate services operational initiatives
  • Maintain any customer files/folders supporting requests, resource staffing, and other services initiatives
  • Updating trackers for customer’s requests or related projects
  • Supporting Services Team and PMO initiatives
