Tourmaline Retail was acquired by a new investment group and required a complete review of their network, including design, equipment, configurations, and network services. Tourmaline Retail required a network that would accommodate secure, high-performance connections to future outsourced system providers.
Challenge:
The network infrastructure at Tourmaline Retail consisted of multiple, costly private line connections. Internet services at Corporate were low bandwidth and would not meet future outsourced system provider plans. Tourmaline Retail employees had no remote access to company resources. Tourmaline Retail was not satisfied with the current network services vendor(s)’ level of service and required a new provider.
How Bird Rock Systems Helped:
Our technical specialists performed a complete network assessment to document the current design, equipment, and configurations, and to make recommendations for cost-effective improvements that supported Tourmaline Retail’s business strategy and needs. A high-speed internet services connection was installed at the corporate site with a new firewall that supported remote Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Virtual Private Network (VPN) remote access. A two factor authentication system was enabled to further secure VPN access and meet PCI requirements.
All network services across nine locations were replaced with one provider. Store locations utilized versatile T-1 services providing internet, as well as phone system analog connections, on one circuit. Bird Rock’s team delivered an end-to-end solution, completing all project planning, management, and network and IP phone system engineering support.
