Summary:
Just a few weeks before deployment, Bird Rock Systems was contracted to provide professional services at Microsoft TechEd 2004, located at the San Diego Convention Center, in support of an industry-first Network Management and Security Initiative (NMSI).
Challenge:
The network infrastructure at TechEd 2004 included a complex profile of users accessing a ubiquitous wireless and wired network covering 1.7 million square feet of protected area. The scope of the project included 11,000 customers and crew, 241 exhibit booths, 27,00 workstations, 10,000 wireless connections, two DS-3’s of Internet bandwidth, 400 network devices, and 10 miles of network cable.

Our firewall specialists implemented and managed advanced security zone technology. With our proven experience in networking and network security, we were able to simultaneously facilitate information-sharing and implement rigorous security measures to protect the network against attack.
Bird Rock Systems Delivered Success:
As part of the NMSI team, Bird Rock Systems effectively defended the complex network from a range of attacks and achieved 99.9% uptime. NMSI was a tremendous success and provided an industry-first template for future convention communications.
